Source Reduction is a waste management technique that focuses on reducing waste by using less material and resources in production. It is the top component of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Waste Hierarchy and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, saves natural resources, conserves energy, reduces pollution, and reduces the toxicity of our collective waste.
