Right to Repair

A movement to give consumers the ability to repair and modify their own products through access to manufacturer repair manuals, spare parts, and diagnostic tools. This is a response to claims that manufacturers, especially of electronic devices, make it increasingly difficult or impossible to repair products, resulting in high waste volumes and financial burdens on consumers. Several US states have enacted “Right to Repair” laws, with the EU following suit by passing new regulations.
