Predatory Delay

A form of greenwashing where companies make ambitious 10+ year pledges to continue operating as usual while marketing themselves as sustainable. A common example is the “Carbon Neutral by 2050” pledge, which allows harmful operations to continue with the promise of future action, shifting responsibility onto future leaders.
