Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV)

MRV is an analysis of emissions mitigation efforts and is the verifying backbone to the carbon market. MRV measures the emissions reduced by a specific mitigation effort, reports the findings to an accredited third-party, which then verifies the data in order to issue carbon credits. MRV converts mitigation efforts into carbon credits, and thus creates monetary value.
