Carbon Offset

Offsets refer to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions used to compensate for emissions produced elsewhere. They can be viewed as “credits” to offset carbon emissions from a company’s operations or value chain, contributing towards a carbon neutral goal. Offsets can take many forms, such as reforestation efforts (measured by the number of trees or plants planted, or an area of land), landfill gas capture, investments in renewable energy projects, and more.
