Biodegradable

Products or packaging that can be decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms are considered biodegradable. However, products labeled “biodegradable” can still have long-lasting damaging effects on the environment. The label is also not legally required or certified, which can result in misleading marketing practices (greenwashing).
